VMWare View Horizon Client

The VMware View client allows users to connect to the Winthrop & Weinstine network through a virtual desktop session. Users can access a virtual desktop using the View client from any Windows PC, MAC, iPad, or Android device.

Downloads

For Windows computer, this version supports 64-bit versions of Windows 10 or Windows 11.

For Mac computers, you must have a 64-bit Intel-based Mac running macOS Catalina (10.15), Big Sur (11), or Monterey (12).

For mobile devices, connect to the Apple App store or the Google Play store for Android devices and download the free [VMware Horizon View Client] app.

Click the appropriate download link and save the file to your PC when prompted:

Windows Installation

After downloading the client from the Downloads section,
double click the file to begin the installation.
(If an older version is already installed, the program will update automatically.)

Click [Agree & Install] if new install or [Agree & Upgrade] if upgrading

When complete, click [Finish]

Reboot if required.

To connect to your virtual machine:
Double click the VMware View Client icon from your desktop or
Start Menu if the program is not already opened.

Double click the network address icon to connect.
If no icon exists, or if the address is incorrect,
click the + Add Server button and enter:
pc.winthrop.com

Enter your Winthrop & Weinstine network username and password and click Login.
If required, confirm dual authentication on phone or tablet.

Double click your assigned virtual desktop session to login.

Mac Installation

Please note: For Mac computers, you must have a 64-bit Intel-based Mac running macOS Catalina (10.15), Big Sur (11), or Monterey (12).


After downloading the client from the Downloads section,
double click the DMG file

Click [Agree]

Drag VMware Client onto the application folder

If asked, click Replace

Click on VMware View client in your application folder

Click [Open] - This should come up only the first time you run the program

Following steps should only need to be done once:
Click [+ Add Server]

Add the following default Default Horizon Connection Server:
pc.winthrop.com
Click [Connect]

Enter your Winthrop & Weinstine network username and password and click Login.
If required, confirm dual authentication on your phone or tablet.
