Omnissa Horizon Client

The Omnissa Horizon Client allows users to connect to the Winthrop & Weinstine network through a virtual desktop session. Users can access a virtual desktop using the Horizon client from any Windows PC, MAC, iPad, or Android device.

Downloads

Horizon Client is supported on Windows 11 2024 Update (also known as Windows 11, version 24H2) and Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024.

Horizon Client is supported on client machines running macOS Sequoia (also known as macOS 15).

For mobile devices, connect to the Apple App store or the Google Play store for Android devices and download the free [Omnissa Horizon Client] app.

Click the appropriate download link and save the file to your PC when prompted:

Windows Installation

After downloading the client from the Downloads section,
find the file on your pc and double click to begin installation.
(If an older version is already installed, the program will update automatically.)

Click [Agree & Install] if new install or [Agree & Upgrade] if upgrading

When complete, click [Finish]

Rebooting is not required, but is suggested.

To connect to your virtual machine:
Double click the Omnissa Horizon Client icon from your desktop or
Start Menu if the program is not already opened.

Double click the network address icon to connect.
If no icon exists, or if the address is incorrect,
click the + Add Server button and enter:
pc.winthrop.com

Enter your Winthrop & Weinstine network username and password and click Login.
If required, confirm dual authentication on phone or tablet.

Double click your assigned virtual desktop session to login.

Mac Installation

After downloading the client from the Downloads section,
double click the DMG file

Click [Agree]

Drag Omnissa Horizon Client onto the application folder

If asked, click Replace

Click on Omnissa Horizon Client in your application folder

Click [Open] - This should come up only the first time you run the program

Following steps should only need to be done once:
Click [+ Add Server]

Add the following default Default Horizon Connection Server:
pc.winthrop.com
Click [Connect]

Enter your Winthrop & Weinstine network username and password and click Login.
If required, confirm dual authentication on your phone or tablet.
